Introducing SmartEnds OS
This month we launched SmartEnds OS, our Waste Intelligence OS. It brings BrighterBins fill-level sensors and VisnLine AI cameras together in one platform, built to answer one question every day: what needs my attention right now?
Why we built it
Waste teams have more data than ever: fill levels, sensor health, camera images and GPS positions. Too often that data sits in separate tools, and planners check several screens before they can decide which containers to collect, which alerts matter and which routes to send.
SmartEnds OS puts sensor data, AI camera insights and route planning together, from the moment a container fills up to the moment it is collected.
What is inside
- Dashboard — total containers, containers needing collection, active alerts and collection efficiency, with a map of every container coloured by fill level.
- Containers — every container live in one list. The detail page shows a fill gauge with time to threshold, battery and signal, GPS location and street address, the latest VisnLine camera photo and an AI fill forecast.
- Roll-Off Routing — a five-step flow from “needs collection” to “completed”. Suggested slots can be confirmed, rescheduled or escalated, next-day routes are built automatically every morning, and Quick Dispatch sends an urgent pickup straight to an available driver.
- Bin & FEL Routing — multi-stop routes for wheelie bins and front-end loader containers, static or AI-suggested. Review the stops, approve the plan and publish it to drivers.
- Alerts — every warning in one list with P1, P2 and P3 priorities, including fire, overflow and contamination alerts.
- Reports — operations, intelligence and compliance reports for any time period, with templates and scheduled delivery.
- Fleet & Sites — depots, disposal sites, vehicles and drivers in one place for route building.
Two tiers, same hardware
Essential covers monitoring and alerts: the live dashboard and container map, alerts with email and SMS notifications, container detail with device health and an AI fill forecast, APIs and webhooks, and unlimited users with SSO and two-factor login.
Pro adds operations: AI-assisted route optimisation and dynamic scheduling, Intelligence Hub analytics and right-sizing, report templates and scheduled reporting, and fleet and site management.
Moving from Essential to Pro is a licence change, with no new hardware. SmartEnds Driver App for in-cab route execution is optional on both tiers, licensed per truck.
Cloud or on-premise
SmartEnds OS can run in the cloud or on-premise.
